SDSU Aviation Program

The South Dakota State University (SDSU) Aviation Program offers a four-year aviation education with two specializations: Aviation Education and Aviation Maintenance Management. The Aviation Education Specialization prepares students for various aviation careers, including becoming Certified Flight Instructors. The program emphasizes safety, innovation, and professionalism, and it is accredited by the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI). Exceptional students may serve as flight instructors in their junior and senior years, contributing to program improvement.

For those interested in aviation maintenance, the Aviation Maintenance Management Specialization provides a comprehensive curriculum in partnership with FAA A&P programs. Students can obtain an Airframe and Powerplant license while completing their degree requirements at SDSU.
