The Aviation Education Specialization prepares students for various aviation careers, including becoming Certified Flight Instructors. The program emphasizes safety, innovation, and professionalism, and it is accredited by the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI). Exceptional students may serve as flight instructors in their junior and senior years, contributing to program improvement.
For those interested in aviation maintenance, the Aviation Maintenance Management Specialization provides a comprehensive curriculum in partnership with FAA A&P programs. Students can obtain an Airframe and Powerplant license while completing their degree requirements at SDSU. The program ensures students meet industry competency standards through assessment and evaluation, including a senior capstone course.
The program offers course guides, descriptions, and program requirements, making it transparent and accessible. With a fleet of well-maintained aircraft and experienced instructors, SDSU prepares students for successful aviation careers.
